The Infratentorial Supracerebellar Approach to Pineal Lesions

Abstract
In three cases of pineal tumors a infratentorial supracerebellar approach was used to explore the pineal region. This approach avoided the damage of the deep venous system around tumor. Recently massy neurosurgeon has been used populary microsurgical technique for brain tumor to resect. These procedure led to low Mortality and minimal morbidity. Because a certain percentage of pineal lesions are benign, encapsulated, circumscribed, partially or wholly cystic, and amenable to resection, it .is recommended that all pineal tumors should be explored prior to a decision regarding radiotherapy & shunt procedure.
